AW10 PUMAPRESS Puma X Trainerspotter Sky Hi II Sneakers

When you look back now, the 80′s were a pretty sweet decade. Walkmans, DeLoreans, synthesizers, the 80′s had some cool shit. As far as fashion went, hi tops reigned supreme amongst the street-smart youth. Admit it, you wanted to be like Zack from Saved by the Bell just as much as I did! Hey, if it meant hooking up with Kelly Kapowski….. sorry my mind wandered then. There’s no doubt this program would have been the ultimate in cool if Screech hadn’t ruined it for everyone, meaning there was a space at the top of the Ladder of Awesomeness. Enter Miami Vice!

Director, Michael Mann was given complete creative control over the show and subsequently banned primary colours from the set. The frequent use of pastel tones throughout the series became a real trademark with viewers. It sparked huge crazes in fashion, influencing lots of people, both consumers and designers. None more so than modern label, Trainerspotter, who also stick to the golden rule of using strictly subtle shades.

As you can imagine, when the creative minds of Trainerspotter and Puma collided, the outcome was going to be pretty epic. The Sky Hi II sneaker is an iconic piece of early 80′s footwear and this re-invisiging is no exception to the very high standards of the past. The trainer features just three colours; the predominant grey, an icy cool mint and a retro pink. Pop the dual palm trees on the tongue and the back, a few contrasting eyelits on the laces and you’ve got a modest, yet incredibly powerful looking hi top.

This is history in the making right here, people!

Officially released on the 16th October, it’s exclusive to Size? who are celebrating their 10th anniversary (so congratulations to them too).
