BAPE Shark Coin Bank

Back in 1975, Steven Spielberg directed a well known, shark-based film by the name of Jaws. I wasn’t alive back then, but by today’s standards it looks pretty lame. I’ve seen scarier looking things down my local shopping precinct late at night. Damn crack heads fighting over Burger King scraps, you wouldn’t believe what they offered me for some rock. Anyway, I’m not a fan of the movie but obviously some people were as it has since grossed over $470 million!

Flash forward 36 years and the recession has hit pretty hard, so Mr Spielberg might have some reservations about keeping all that wonga in an account with one of those sneaky banks. So with that being the case, where better to keep it than the new Bape Shark Coin Bank? Sculpted in the shape of someone wearing the infamous Shark Hoodie (possibly a Teriyaki Boy) it’s the perfect addition to any mantelpiece or bedside table. I don’t know how tall the piece stands so I’m not sure exactly how much change it will actually store, but I get the feeling $470m might be a bit excessive. You’re gonna need a bigger bank!

The Bape Shark Coin Bank is available from the Bathing Ape site as of the 18th January.
