After seeing him and his band, The Roots, walk through LAX last summer (a mere 5 feet away from me *clapping hands in excitement*) and watching him regularly on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, I have become a fan of Questlove. Nike has collaborated with this very cool dude from Fallon’s house band; he is their drummer and has an afro bigger than a pumpkin. The shoe they designed is a High Dunk with some sick details.
Called the “Air-Questo”, the pack is one of a kind for Nike lovers all around. There are 3 shoes in this pack and the colors are red, black, and yellow. The shoes have a couple of things in common, most notably the Questlove symbol (Questlove’s silhouette, completed with his famous afro pick) on the back heel and on the tongue.
The red one is a bit different and in my opinion the coolest, it has an oversized forefoot strap that covers the laces and has 5 white buttons for show. I normally like black shoes but I might pass on that color here since the Questlove symbol is barely visible on the back. You can see these man-children on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon or you can cop your own tonight at the release party held on 21 Mercer Street in NYC at 7pm.
