The world is a terrifying place at the moment. Everyone has got one eye on the situation in Libya, and with more and more military units being deployed World War III may just break out before Infinity Ward can release Modern Warfare 3. It’s thanks to these kind of games we all have a pretty good idea of what a war would look like now, but can you imagine a major conflict in about 200 years time. God only knows what devastating weaponry would be knocking about, but I get the impression that the troops may resemble the new Spring/Summer collection from Bernhard Willhelm. These garish designs wouldn’t look out of place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland that had been drowned in fluorescent lights following the fallout of the Pepsi-Coca Cola nuclear battle. A neon Mad Max era, if you will.

Still, this sort of style doesn’t come as a surprise when you take into account Willhelm assisted such fashion legends as Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood in his younger days. Like his mentors, his extravert art doesn’t come cheap, so if you’re in the market for some bargain clothes this spring you’d best turn your attention elsewhere, unless of course you consider £650 to be cheap for a hoodie.
