If you watch the likes of Franalations or anyone of that sort on Youtube, you’ll be aware that sneaker events like Dunkxchange and Sneaker Friends regular occurrences in the US. People come from all over the country to admire, buy, sell and swap their kicks with fellow sneakerheads. Considering the UK’s population is a measly 60 million (compared to the USA’s 300 million or so) and a large proportion of my fellow Brits are happy enough in a pair of Topman boat shoes or mass produced Converse, we don’t tend to play host to such events but thanks to “SneakaFreaka83″, that’s all about to change.
Hosting the first Sneaker Scoundrels, SneakaFreaka83 hopes to bring the UK sneaker community together at Slam City Skates in London’s Covent Garden on the 24th of July for an evening of bartering and general showing off, as well as the opportunity to win a free pair of shoes. Besides the shoe side of things, there’ll also be live DJ’s and London based artists in store to keep the event going.
An entrance fee of just £5 applies and you can also book a table to showcase your collection for £10, which is more than reasonable considering the amount of money you have the potential to make if your kicks are on point.

BE THERE OR BE SQUARE. I, unfortunately, will be square as the event takes place on the day I leave London. Sad times.
