You may recall back in January when these Christian Louboutin Rollerboy slip-ons hit the headlines when designer and blogger Taz “TISA” Arnold had to argue with airport security over whether or not the rather spiky choice of footwear was a weapon or not. Obviously, you’d have to be a well paid and dressed terrorist if you were gonna hijack a plane using a pair of shoes costing $1245 but you can see how the spiked exterior could cause problems.
But despite all the controversy caused by the Transportation Security Administration (Yes. That’s the people that look at your balls when you go through airport security), Christian Louboutin have not been disheartened and are bringing back the Rollerboy silhouette once again. Whilst they were previously only seen in black and white, the 16th of September will see the shoe wrapped in a very classic looking, red, blue, yellow and green tartan. I’m personally not one to really cover my shoes in rather sharp studs but aesthetically, this is quite a nice shoe and as I’ve always felt that simple back and white colourways were kind of holding this loud-ass shoe back but now, with both leopard print and tartan under it’s belt, this shoe is only set to become even more controversial.
Whether you’re looking to stand out at prom, impress your fashionista girlfriend or even just kick it in some dangerous shoes, Christian Louboutin have you covered…unless of course you’re flying, in which case; go with a comfier, safer and all around more practical pair of Vans. Please.
