Probably the plainest skate shoe ever to hit the market, Emerica’s China Flats are getting done up in collaboration with the original Bloodsucking Skateboard Company, Toy Machine. These are slipons, made out of one piece of canvas and a vulcanized midsole that matches the colorway, giving each shoe a monochrome vibe (with the exception of the black colorway, which has a white midsole.) Emerica’s only branding is the little “E” logo embroidered by the ankle. Toy Machine’s touch on this shoe are the screen prints on the toe. Each of the colorways has a Toy Machine monster mascot on this area, with the Eye on the black and purple colorways, the Frog (looks more like a stoned Kermit) on the green colorway, and the OG Toy Machine Monster on the red colorway. There’s really nothing else to the shoe, and I see that as a positive thing, not only for the clean design but also for the price.
