BAPE Camo iPad Case

Aug 12th, 2011   •   By    •   No Comments

If my memory serves me correctly, one of the first posts I submitted to this fine site regarded BAPE iPhone cases but iPhones are obviously old news now (until numero 5 comes drops anyway) as BAPE are now delving into the world of Apple’s latest innovation: the iPad 2.

Coincidentally, these cases use the same camo pattern seen on one of the ones included in the Gizmobies collaboration of February but in three different colourways; desert, arctic and a regular camouflage (I’m obviously not in the armed forces of any form – I just play Call of Duty – so feel free to correct me if any of these titles are incorrect). The case is mainly constructed of canvas with a leather strap which would keep the device inside the case. The only other thing worth mentioning would be the small sewn-in tag on the bottom right corner of the case – you can’t quite read it in the pictures included in this post but if you go onto the BAPE US site and zoom in, you can see it is very army-inspired with details of the case as well as some Bathing Ape branding.

Considering BAPE is one of the pioneers when it comes to the use of camo in streetwear, it’s no surprise that they recycled their “classic” pattern with the ape head for their first set of iPad cases. That being said, it would’ve been nice to see something a little more creative rather than just re-hashing something which I’m pretty sure they’ve used on every garment/accessory they’ve ever produced.

Available as of today via the BAPE NY store and US.Bape.com for $152.
