A few months ago, you most likely read an article by Liam about the Baracuta G35 jacket. I think we can all agree that it’s a dapper British classic. It has a timeless style and blurs the lines between smart and casual. It’s must have piece of outerwear that should be in every self-respecting man’s wardrobe. Well, that was until Baracuta teamed up with Bape for the best collaboration since pornography and my adolescence. At first, the G4 appears pretty much the same as ever, that is until you look inside and take note of the jackets true beauty. Discovering the Bape camo lining is a lot like meeting a pretty girl, only to find out she enjoys nothing more than sitting around the house in hotpants watching anime. WIN! The only other noticeable difference is a small ape head logo on a leather-looking patch, located on the left chest.
The jackets are available in beige and navy, with the former having the more outlandish coloured camo. Both look great, but I prefer the beige purely because the contrast between the two styles is greater, which is what I love about this collaboration. It’s nice to see A Bathing Ape teaming up with a less predictable brand for a change and is a breath of fresh air. The only thing I’m not so keen on is the price, as Bape have hiked it up to £465! Still, it does look pretty awesome.
