MANIAC BY KID CUDI

I love Kid Cudi. If I went to a school that had wooden desks – I would scratch “LB 4 SM” into every one I sat at. If I was 18 and really really really high – I’d get his face tattooed over mine. If I wrote for an awesome website – I’d blog about this new video of his. Oh, wait…..

This mini-film has been in the works for a fair while now and the majority of real Cudder fans will have already been aware of it’s to-be existence, pretty much since the track Maniac was released on 2010′s Man on the Moon II. Now, as the name and nature of the track suggests; this was never going to be an overly-cheery film but I don’t think many people predicted that it would be quite as dark as this. Basically: the film revolves around two serial killers (played by Scott Mescudi and Chris Palko – better known as Kid Cudi and Cage) and their adventures in the night as they are followed by a film crew making a documentary on the killers.

Transformers star and director of the music video for Cudder’s Marijuana track, Shia LaBeouf was responsible for which way the cameras pointed and where his canvas chair with his name on the back sat, amongst other director-y duties and to be honest he did a pretty banging job. I wasn’t too keen on the Marijuana video – which was shot on an 8mm video camera by LaBeouf – but with this he’s really shown that he has what it takes to be more than a half-decent director.

You can watch the film below and just as a warning – it might be classed as NSFW in certain places of work but fuck it. Kid Cudi is a wizard and you should watch it anyway.
