RON ENGLISH x THE HUNDREDS

ronenglish RON ENGLISH x THE HUNDREDSIt’s been my dream since I was young to be sandwiched between the Tasmanian Devil and Donald Duck.

Whilst in London earlier this year, I was lucky enough to get the chance to check out the first UK based exhibition of artist Ron English’s paintings. The walls of London’s Lazarides Gallery were clad with colourful re-imanginings of pop-culture classics – from Charlie Brown to The Rolling Stones and even a little reference to Jesus drinking Kool-Aid – and lets just say that your childhood icons were looking less than innocent. Using the same prankster-like logic applied to all his previous work, Ron has worked on a capsule collection with fellow LA natives The Hundreds, set to release…..today, actually.

Built up of three t-shirts (coming in dark blue, light blue and black), the collection uses two of Mr. English’s iconic pieces (‘Cowgirl’ and ‘Rabbit’), both backed onto a stack of The Hundred’s logos. As well as recycling two past favourites, Adam Bomb was given a little bit of a makeover and joined forces with another Ron English creation (‘Smiley’) to end up looking like a very happy yet kind of sinister smiley face who is also a bomb….

All three t-shirts can be seen below are available now from The Hundreds flagship stores (New York, LA, San Francisco and Santa Monica).

I’m not too keen on The Hundreds branding behind the artworks, so i do agree with you.
