May Stuff…

It’s summertime and the living is easy, fish are jumping and the cotton is being knit, woven and sculpted into a variety of summer must-have items that have the kids ditching the ice cream truck and saving up their pennies for something useful like College. In which case, I hope some cooler kid comes along and steals that money in order to cop themselves something in the list below:

“Wants and Needs” make us Wet and Hard

Insa’s recent “wants and needs” exhibit in Luxembourg has got us horny for heels. The exhibit comprised Inca’s signature high heel customs, as well as a collection of PVC prints and hand drawn pieces, each more colourful and sexually charged than the next. Helping to indulge its visitors in the erotic ambiance, the exhibit doorways are adorned with a pair of legs so long and lean they’d send Naomi Campbell into a fit of cellphone throwing, slap-happy rage!

Boys + Cupcakes, no longer = Gay

Our favourite ‘cute as pie’ cupcake man, Johnny Cupcake has set up shop (or oven, rather) on Melrose in L.A., just across the street from KidRobot. The store (set to open its oven doors next month)is bound to have clients sniffing their way in from miles away. The store will feature a giant 10-foot tall oven that employees will walk in and out of; as well as 36 vintage oven doors which open and close, and even shoot out steam! Yet another spot to check out on our upcomming L.A. shopping tour.

These are a few of my favourite things

Well…not mine personally, but Nigo’s. He’s released the May ’08 selections out of his Favourite Shop collection. Clean and subtle, I actually quite like these pieces which consist of mainly black & white patterns, as well as a white on white camo print tee. Even the panda hoodie has more “wearability’ in a white colourway. In attempt to fight the hate which burns so fiercely inside of me….let me just say, I could live without the clock.

Aim Low, Dunk Hi

Due out later this year, as part of NikeSportsWear’s Fall ’08 collection, are these eye-tricking, optical illusion style sneakers that I’ve got a kick for. Available in 5 colourways (blue/red, black/yellow, red/black, green/yellow and blue/navy), these new Polka Dot print Nike Dunk Hi’s, feature a virtually seamless upper making these the footwear equivalent of the Tuxedo t-shirt…awesomeness materialized!

Lemar & Dauley have got BALLS!…basketballs

Our new favourite clothing concocters have released some Spring ’08 polo’s that have a retro, throwback feel; even going as far as incorporating some lightweight terry into some of their polo designs. Yet again, Lemar & Dauley succeeds in conjuring certain fuzzy memories/feelings/déjà-vu’s/emotions that we weren’t even aware of having!These new designs are so bitchin’, they have us wanting to throw on a pair of old, gentry style, ball-seperating tennis shorts, and heading to the park to do some warm-up lunges to entertain a small (disgusted) audience. Just imagine doing this:

OriginalFake:Two years Gold

OriginalFake recently turned two years old. We hoped with this anniversary, would come with the announcement of a special edition “Two Years Gold” Companion…but unfortunately, this was one wish we were not granted. Regardless, KAWS did mark this anniversary with the release of some very special items, which include collaborations on a Visvim Backpack, a Supreme X KAWS Kate Moss t-shirt, Levi’s jeans that feature the KAWS Chomper design on the pockets, and a 4-inch KAWS companion figure.
