Did you know that the trench coat was so named for the soldiers who fought in the trenches during the first World War? Burberry invented it, and Christopher Bailey is only too happy to draw on that as inspiration for his latest collection, replete with heavy shearling coats that will stand up to the meanest Canadian winter, and double-breasted military coats drawing on the Balmain trend that is so freakin’ pervasive everywhere you look. There’s also lots of leather, from the boots on up to the epaulettes on a couple of the coats. You can tell those shearling and leather boots are only going to look better and better the longer you wear them.
I want one all of them. It’s easy to imagine some pretentious English dandy toting a rifle and a huge Union Jack into war with the Scots. Good lord, the British are coming!
